What’s not to love about senior pictures featuring a fire-engine red vintage GMC pick-up truck?
Madelyn, a senior at Holland Christian High School, was the lucky recipient of a rare cancellation in my schedule last summer. But as such, we had only one week to plan and prep for her Senior Portrait Experience! But she had several ideas and a whole host of interests, including reading, journaling, and playing cello… and she had that fantastic red truck, to boot!
Madelyn is a self-described country girl, at home in the great outdoors. I thought Hemlock Crossing Park, right between Holland and Grand Haven, with its natural prairie and woodland setting would be perfect for one of her locations. And indeed it was! Armed with some of her favorite classic novels as well as her cello, we captured some gorgeous moments and some amazing light!
Though she doesn’t normally wear much makeup, Madelyn was excited to have her hair and makeup done for her senior pictures. Angie Miller did an amazing job giving her a natural yet polished look for her shoot. And those loose, flowing waves were so beautiful in her hair, perfectly accentuating her carefree, casual look.
We ended Madelyn’s session at Kirk Park, where dune grasses, the sandy beach, and old pilings at Lake Michigan’s shoreline provided an absolutely lovely backdrop for her bare feet and rolled up jeans. Her little sister even joined us as we walked down the beach, dancing and twirling and loving the chance to stay out past her bedtime!!
Madelyn, thank you so much for letting me capture you as you headed into your Senior Year! I just know your future will be filled with great adventures! All the best!
